“ Mother’s Day, we knew what to expect. Every restaurant in America would be packed. The strategy for eating at Magnolia Café, get there early, before church lets out in the small town of Durant. This strategy was flawed. Every family took mom out for breakfast. The parking lot was overflowing. Little hopes of getting in quickly, but willing to deal with the wait. Surprise, Magnolia Café had a couple of booths open. The restaurant was prepared, staffed, organized for the event. The varsity team waitstaff. “They were on their A-game!” There were several specials. The waitress suggested the Chicken Fried Chicken. Sold! Make it two, with green beans and mashed. A side salad for me with Thousand Island. There was almost as much dressing as there was salad. No slackers in the kitchen either. The restaurant was packed, yet our food arrived in minutes. The food is magnificent, small-town diner excellent. The service attentive and friendly. These folks know how to run a restaurant. ”

“ Great meal for the whole family! Had the Philly cheese steak sandwich and it was very good. 3yo had the mickey pancakes which he almost ate all of. Got some banana bread and fried pies before leaving which were fantastic! Wasn't to busy and very relaxing in there. Kelly was our server and made us feel right at home. ”

“ Great place for some great comfort food. Had the chicken fried chicken- mashed potatoes- mixed vegetables- salad - chicken & rice soup. Soup was the best I’ve ever had! The rest was really good except for the mixed vegetables. They were disappointing. Service was excellent! Give them a shot. They are located in the downtown area of Durant. Oh great daily specials & check out the desserts! ”
